ECONOMICS and MANAGEMENT SCIENCES (0311)

YEAR 1 - 8 course units

Semester I
MANG1003
1 approved Economics course unit (ECON1001 [without A level] or ECON1003 [with A level])
QM (ECON1005 or ECON1007)
1 course unit from School of Social Sciences or MANG lists (excluding MANG1007, STAT1003).

Semester II
MANG1008, MANG1004, ECON1002
QM (ECON1006 or ECON1008)
Students may replace MANG1004 with MANG1001 and MANG1002.

YEAR 2 - 8 course units

Semester I
MANG2001, MANG2006, ECON2001, ECON2002

Semester II
ECON2005
At least 1 course units from MANG2002, MANG2007, MANG2013, MANG2021.
2 further course units from ECON, MANG or School of Social Sciences lists.

Students who take MANG3025 (Management dissertation) in year 3 must take MANG2008 (Management Research).

Students intending to take ECON3023 (dissertation) in year 3 may not take MANG2008. Special permission will be required if a student who has taken MANG2008 subsequently decides to do an Economics dissertation in year 3.

YEAR 3 - 8 course units

2 course units from MANG2002*, MANG2010*, MANG3017, MANG2007*, MANG3008, MANG3010, MANG3013, MANG3032, MANG2011*, MANG2013*, MANG2021*, MANG3034, STAT3002
Dissertation/Project (MANG3025 or ECON3023 - double course unit)
2 course units from ECON3***, School of Social Sciences or MANG lists.

A minimum of 6 MANG and 6 ECON course units (excluding Dissertation project) to be taken over years 2 and 3 combined. A maximum of 2 course units from the School of Social Sciences list (excluding ECON and MANG) may be taken in years 2 and 3 combined. For these purposes, the MANG list includes STAT3002.

Please note that MANG level 2 units will not be available to year 3 students after 2007/8.
