Regulations for Intercalated Degree of Bachelor of Science in the Social Sciences (for BM Candidates)

  1. A candidate for the degree of Bachelor of Medicine who reaches a sufficiently high standard in the Intermediate examination may be permitted by the Social Sciences School Board to enter the third year of a course leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in the Social Sciences with honours in Sociology.

  2. A candidate admitted under the above Regulation shall be required to take at least eight unit courses to form a coherent pattern of study. The choice of units shall be subject to the approval of a candidate's tutor and of the Board of Studies for the Intercalated Degree.

  3. Each candidate shall be required to undertake an independent project and submit a report for examination not later than 1 May of the year following completion of the intercalated year.
